#1 on the list

My #1 on the list had already begun - MAKING A LIST OF THINGS TO DO.

Is it quantifiable - Yes
Is it clearly defined - Yes
Is it realistic - Hmmm .. yes it is.
Is it stretchable - YES

A sense of calm slowly starts to prevail. In a daily life of rushing to office, finishing unread mails, getting & giving status reports, brainstorming on the latest issues, a forced proactive measure for getting things done, and its already 7 PM. Have a couple more hours to the day. Starting to work on my list has really made me think beyond my daily life. It has taken me back to college where I had a few small lists prepared and completed. There was that familiar airy feeling of success, to be one with the self. Are those days back? That familiar feeling is slowly getting back, need to hold on to it.

Getting back to work, I will be publishing my first chunk of tasks in a couple of days, ( I know its only a few tasks but I am really taking my time in choosing the challenging doable goals).

GTD - David Allen

I have become a big fan of the Getting Things Done - GTD approach by David Allen. Check this wiki article GTD - David Allen. Its sound, wise and really results in top results. This is definitely going to help me in my journey towards completing my 101 tasks. LOL.!!!

Every day is a little chunk of life

Somebody said everyday is a little chunk of life. Get your share of it and go for your dreams. Of late I have been compiling a list of things to do in life. I have spent innumerable hours into the thought process, sometimes even missing my work for a couple of days. Hey after all this is my higher calling. I dont wanna miss this life.

This process of making a list of things to do in life is quite tricky. The entries keep piling up. Whooa so many things to do in one short life!!! Bringing in some management funda to handle this list was a wise choice. What I thought is, instead of having 101 things to do in life, why not have 'n' number of things to do in 'n' number of days multiple times in one single lifetime that you have at your disposal.

Say for example,
15 things to do in 6 months
4 things to do in a month
41 things to do in 20 months
... and the list goes on.

Now isnt that a fairly non-difficult task. Of course there is no harm in making 'your' 101 list, but again allow flexibility in your goals.

Say you have made a list of 15 things to do in 6 months and gradually in the midst of this timeframe you feel that some of the things you have listed cannot be accomplished in the decided timeframe, have a buffer list of things to do and substitute this with the tasks you feel need to be postponed(Of course you have to do the earlier tasks. No excuses mate!!!).

You never know along this journey of life how many like minded people who share the same passion towards life as you do. Very soon I will be posting my first list of tasks to be accomplished in the next 'n' months.

Well I guess I am already working on my first task to be accomplished i.e. the preparation of the list!!! Now thats an empowering feeling. I am on my way. Are you?
